Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy describes the types of cookies used by the onlinecalendar.pro website (hereinafter the “Website”), their purposes and how they are managed — together with the other browser local-storage tools used by the Website — in accordance with Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree No. 196 of 30 June 2003 (the “Privacy Code”), Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the “ePrivacy Directive”) and the Italian Data Protection Authority's Decision of 10 June 2021 (the “Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools”).

This Cookie Policy supplements and must be read together with the Privacy Notice of the Site.

1. Data Controller

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by the user send to their device (computer, tablet, smartphone), where they are stored and then transmitted back to the same site on the next visit.

There are different categories of cookies. According to the classification adopted by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali) and by European law, cookies are mainly classified as follows:

CategoryFunctionConsent required?
Strictly necessary (technical) cookiesStrictly necessary for the operation of the site or for the provision of a service expressly requested by the userNo (Art. 122 Codice Privacy)
Non-anonymous analytics / profiling cookiesTracking, commercial profiling, marketingYes (prior consent)
Third-party cookiesSet by domains other than the one visited (e.g. social media, advertising)Yes (prior consent)

3. Cookies and local storage used by the Website

The Site is designed in accordance with the data minimisation principle. It uses exclusively strictly necessary technical cookies, indispensable for the correct delivery of the service.

The Site does not use:

  • commercial or behavioural profiling cookies;
  • advertising or marketing cookies;
  • third-party cookies (Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, etc.);
  • social network or video platform cookies;
  • non-anonymous analytics cookies.

3.1 — List of cookies used

Cookie nameTypePurposeOriginDuration
Joomla technical session cookie (name dynamically generated as a unique 32-character hexadecimal hash string)Technical — sessionMaintain the browsing session, store the selected interface language, the country being viewed (detected automatically or selected manually by the user) and the current browsing state (view and period displayed)First party (Site server)Session (deleted when the browser is closed or after a period of inactivity)

The session cookie contains only an identifier: the corresponding values (language, country, region and browsing state) are stored on the Data Controller's servers for the duration of the browsing session. As at the date of the last revision, a check carried out on the Website did not identify any cookies other than the one specified. The network and anti-DDoS protection infrastructure may set its own technical cookies during automated security checks, for example in response to abnormal traffic: they are used exclusively for security, do not enable profiling and also fall within the category of technical cookies exempt from consent. The Website does not use any cookie to collect consent, since no banner is present or required (see section 5).

3.2 — Browser local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage)

In addition to cookies, the Website uses local storage made available by the browser. These tools are not technically cookies — they are not automatically sent back to the server with every request — but the Italian Data Protection Authority's Decision of 10 June 2021 treats them as tools equivalent to cookies. They are therefore listed below together with their purpose and duration.

KeyStoragePurposeDuration
calproVisualPrefslocalStorageCalendar appearance preferences set by the userUntil deleted by the user
calproStructuralPrefslocalStorageCalendar structural options selected by the user (displayed elements and week numbering)Until deleted by the user
calproExportPrefslocalStorageMost recently used export options (format, orientation and paper size)Until deleted by the user
calproCountdownUserDatelocalStorageTarget date set by the user in the “Countdown” toolUntil deleted by the user
calproTimeCalclocalStorageDates and options entered by the user in the “Calculate the period between two dates” tool, so that they are available when the user returns to the pageUntil deleted by the user
calproRegionPrefsessionStorageManually selected administrative region, so that it is retained when moving from one page to anotherBrowser session
calproGeoAreasessionStorageResult of a geographical detection already performed, so that it does not have to be repeated on every pageBrowser session
calproExportStarted
calproExportDoneMsg
sessionStorageStatus of an ongoing PDF/JPG export and result message to be displayed when it finishesBrowser session
calpro.pendingToastsessionStorageConfirmation message to be displayed after the page reloadsDeleted after it is first displayed

All the entries listed above are technical and functional: they contain only preferences set by the user or technical browsing states, contain no identifying data, do not make it possible to recognise the user on other websites and are not used for advertising, profiling or tracking. They therefore do not require prior consent, for the same reasons set out in section 5 for technical cookies.

The user may delete them at any time through the browser settings (section 7). Deletion merely restores the calendar's default settings.

4. Visit statistics: no cookies used

The Site uses Matomo, open source statistical analysis software installed and operated autonomously by the Controller on its own infrastructure, configured in "cookieless" mode. Accordingly, Matomo:

  • does not release any cookie on the user's device;
  • does not enable the Data Controller to identify an individual user, since it uses neither cookies nor persistent identifiers;
  • anonymises the IP address before storage by masking its last 2 bytes (for example, 192.168.100.50 becomes 192.168.0.0);
  • respects the "Do Not Track" signal where set by the user's browser.

For further details on how Matomo works and on the relevant legal basis, please refer to Section 3.3 of the Privacy Notice.

5. Consent banner: not required

Since the Site does not employ profiling cookies, third-party cookies, non-anonymous analytics cookies or any other tracking tools subject to prior consent pursuant to Article 122 of the Codice Privacy and the Decision of the Garante of 10 June 2021, the Site does not require the activation of any cookie consent banner.

All cookies used are strictly necessary technical cookies falling within the exemption provided by Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and the national implementing provisions. Such exemption applies where the sole purpose of the cookie is to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or where it is strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user.

Should the Site introduce, in the future, tools subject to a consent obligation, a dedicated consent banner compliant with the Garante's Guidelines will be activated, allowing the user to accept, refuse or customise their preferences before such tools are enabled.

6. Processing of data collected via cookies

The data collected through the technical cookies described in section 3 are processed solely for technical purposes. By its nature, the session cookie relates to an individual browsing session — this is what enables the session to remain consistent from one page to another — but it does not enable the Data Controller to identify the person, since it is not linked to any personal details or account.

For full information on the processing operations carried out by the Site, on the data subject's rights, on the recipients of the data and on how to exercise the rights granted by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), please refer to the Privacy Notice.

7. How to manage and disable cookies

The user may at any time manage, limit or disable the use of cookies through the settings of their own browser. The procedures vary depending on the software used; the official support pages of the main browsers are listed below:

BrowserSupport page
Google Chromesupport.google.com/chrome
Mozilla Firefoxsupport.mozilla.org
Microsoft Edgesupport.microsoft.com
Apple Safarisupport.apple.com
Operahelp.opera.com

The same browser settings also allow users to delete the local-storage data (localStorage and sessionStorage) described in section 3.2, generally through the “Clear site data” option or an equivalent command.

Warning: disabling strictly necessary technical cookies may compromise the proper functioning of certain sections of the Site (in particular the storage of the language and the country of consultation between one page and the next). Since these are cookies strictly necessary for the service, their disabling is not recommended for a normal use of the Site.

8. Amendments to this Cookie Policy

The Controller reserves the right to modify, supplement or update this Cookie Policy at any time, also as a result of regulatory changes, alignment with industry practice or evolution of the technical features of the Site.

Material changes will be communicated by means of a prominent notice on the Site. The version in force is always the one published on this page on the date of consultation.

9. Rights of the data subject and contact details

To exercise the rights provided for in Articles 15–22 GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection), and for any matter concerning the processing of personal data, the data subject may contact the personal data protection contact person, Mr Fabio Zignale, the business owner, at the following contact details:

  • Ordinary email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Certified Electronic Mail (PEC): This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Postal mail: Agenzia Indaco di Zignale Fabio, Via Umberto 199, 95035 Maletto (CT), Italia

The data subject also has the right to lodge a complaint with the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (Italian Data Protection Authority, www.garanteprivacy.it).

10. Language of the Cookie Policy and versions in other languages

This Cookie Policy is drawn up in Italian, which constitutes the reference text. Translations into the Website's other languages reproduce the same substantive content; in the event of an editorial discrepancy between language versions, the Italian version shall prevail. This precedence shall not operate to the detriment of rights recognised as mandatory under the law applicable to the user.
